We mark the passing of a guitar legend with one of his best loved tracks
Bluegrass icon and all-round guitar legend Tony Rice has sadly passed away aged 69.
John Osborne, of Brothers Osborne said in a tweet “What Hendrix did for the electric guitar, this man did for the acoustic.” Rice could certainly teach a shredder a thing or two about technique, feeling and precision.
The 1979 album 'Manzanita' with the Tony Rice Unit, is held up as an iconic bluegrass album. It's such a wonderful album in terms of musicianship, that it really needs to reach the ears of music fans outside the genre.
