It's been a crazy week: For this week's round-up we go back to the 70s with Def Leppard, have a quiet cup of Ice T and meet a wild woman!

Kickstarting what promises to be yet another unforgettable summer, Def Leppard unveil a brand-new standalone single entitled “Just Like 73” featuring Tom Morello today! Listen HERE. The song arrives on 7” vinyl on August 2, 2024 and will be available in a special color variant only through the band’s D2C store and in black at all retailers. Pre-order HERE. Making a splash, BBC Radio 2 just world premiered the track as a “Global Exclusive” this morning.

“Just Like 73” notably marks the first collaboration between the iconic rock titans and the legendary guitarist, sonic innovator, and co-founder of Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave. The single revolves around a classic Def Leppard stomp fueled by a robust stadium-size beat, thick riffing, and a signature chant, “Rock with me, just like 73!”Meanwhile, a knockout gang vocal gives way to a signature fret-scorching solo from Morello. The instantly recognizable whammy bar wheezes as he shreds at lightspeed into one last head-nodding hook.

Of the collaboration Joe Elliott shares, “It encapsulates a time that burned deep into our DNA. We wanted to celebrate that very important and glorious time.”

“When I saw David Bowie on TV between 1972 and 1973, everything I thought I knew about music went from black and white to vivid technicolor,” Phil Collen adds. “Our song ‘Just Like 73’ represents that awakening.”

"I had a blast rocking a solo on “Just Like 73,” says Tom Morello. “I played ‘Rock Of Ages’ in my college cover band almost 40 years ago and here Def Leppard are still killing it in stadiums with a brand new tune that’s one of their best.”

Next up, Def Leppard will present a high-octane animated music video for “Just Like 73, premiering on June 20, 2024 at 16:00 BST. It features the band (and Morello) like you’ve never seen them before.

Def Leppard return to the road on a massive co-headline stadium tour with Journey next month. They will be joined by special guests HeartCheap Trick, and Steve Miller Band on select dates. This run kicks off on July 6 in St. Louis, MO at Busch Stadium, canvases the continent, and concludes on September 8 in Denver, CO at Coors Field. Check out the full confirmed itinerary below.

Earlier this year, Def Leppard commemorated the 40th Anniversary of their iconic album Pyromania with a Deluxe Expanded Edition and full music and merchandise collection. It is available on 4-CD / Blu Ray Box, 1LP Half Speed Master, 2LP Black Vinyl, 2LP Coloured Vinyl (D2C Exclusive), 2CD and digitally. Get it HERE.

Strap in for a wild ride…BODY COUNT conjure up visceral imagery and references to history’s most feared criminals in the music video to their newest song, 'Psychopath', featuring Fit for an Autopsy's Joe Bad. Directed by Jay Scorsese, the video pulls inspiration from fictional and real-life horrors, with references spanning from Jason Voorhees to Ted Bundy.

'Psychopath' is from BODY COUNT’s forthcoming album, Merciless, the follow-up to Carnivore, which was released to critical acclaim in March 2020 – just a week before COVID shut the entire world down. Upon the album’s release, NME observed, “as long as there’s injustice, there’ll be a need for Ice T’s vital brand of hardcore.” REVOLVER marvelled, “Death, controversy and changing times could have crushed them. Instead…they’re as strong as ever.”

For BODY COUNT, it’s been a history of being both respected and feared – a barbed-wire thread that stretches back to the band’s origins as a project between Ice-T and Crenshaw High friend, Ernie C. Their first shot fired, the song, 'Body Count', was a mission statement on Ice-T’s 1991 O.G. – Original Gangster. That’s the blueprint they’ve been running on for 35+ years.

They touched a nerve with their first, self-titled 1991 album and its divisive track, 'Cop Killer', which inspired hatred, fear, and paranoia, but also inspired generations of bands to follow. What they took from growing up with Black Sabbath and being inspired by fellow L.A. legends like Slayer and Suicidal Tendencies has only upped the ante for generations of homies and hardcore fans. BODY COUNT’s current line-up includes surviving OG’s Ice, Ernie C. and Sean E Sean, joined by bassist Vincent Price, drummer Will “Ill Will” Dorsey, Juan “Juan of the Dead” Garcia and backing vocalist Little Ice.

Cause she’s a WILD WILD WOMAN! California-based roots rock band, Beaux Gris Gris & The Apocalypse release a Hollywood style stunt-filled music video for album track “Wild Woman”. From their new album ‘Hot Nostalgia Radio’, ‘Wild Woman’ is their third single promoted across the UK. The video features Beaux Gris Gris’ herself, front-woman Greta Valenti, singing the blues-rock stomper, while performing a series of stunts alongside Los Angeles stunt men and women. From flying and doing barrel rolls in a harness while being ripped back and forth to a martial arts fight scene to being set on fire, she does it all.

The video produced by GROW VISION (the duo of Greta Valenti & Robin’s Davey’s self-owned production company and the band’s current record label) teamed up with  Action Factory Stunts in Santa Clarita, CA to create the 3 min action-packed video. “From the moment we wrote and recorded this song, all I wanted to do was have a video filled with some crazy fun stunts.”, Says Greta,  “We were very fortunate to team up with Jayson Dumenigo (Deadpool 2, Furious 7, Avengers: Endgame, Pirates of the Caribbean) and his team at Action Factory. Due to the nature of the video, we had to get everything approved by our production insurance, and wanted to make sure all of the stunts were as safe as possible. I’m Wild, but not stupid. I’ve worked with fire once before, but the rest I had to learn on set and make sure I didn’t injure myself;  Jayson and his team made that happen. We had a lot of fun doing this one, and I hope you all find it fun to watch.”
