From balancing music and the day job to their new EP we catch up with Twin Void
PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF FOR US WHO ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH YOU AND YOUR MUSIC AND TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF.
We are a Rock n’ Roll band from Spokane, WA called Twin Void
TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR NEW ALBUM OR SINGLE?
Our new EP is called “Electric Drone Wasp” and it's the first piece of music that me and Wyatt went into a professional studio to record, which was a really awesome experience.
WHAT INSPIRED THE ALBUM OR SINGLE?
The EP was inspired by a group of songs we wrote in my basement in the middle of winter.
CAN YOU SUM UP THE ALBUM IN A FEW WORDS?
I think it's got a little bit of everything, heavy riffs, catchy choruses and some really cool grooves.
WHAT RECORD CHANGED YOUR LIFE AND WHY?
One record that really stands out to me is Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath, it really showed me that you can have heaviness, hooks and lots of cool instrumentation all in one record.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE MUSIC VIDEO FILMED BY YOUR BAND OR ANOTHER ARTIST? Yeah we just released a music video for our single “Green Valley” and it was done by our good buddy Wes from HyperTuna Productions and we think it turned out really killer.
WHAT WOULD WE FIND YOU DOING WHEN YOU'RE NOT MAKING MUSIC?
Probably doing something artsy like drawing or cooking, and considering my day job is being a cook I get the best of both worlds.
DO YOU GET NERVOUS PERFORMING LIVE, IF SO HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH THAT?
I don't get nervous too often but if I'm gonna play in front of a packed house I usually hangout outside and try to laugh and have a good time so it’s less stressful, or I’ll have a cold PBR to get the nerves out.
HOW DID YOU FORM THE BAND?
Me and Wyatt just started to jam and we wanted to start something different and fresh.
HOW DO YOU WRITE? - DO YOU HAVE A KEY SONGWRITER, OR DO YOU ALL WORK TOGETHER?
It usually comes from riffs that I come up with then I’ll make demos on Garageband then we’ll start jamming them out and work them out into songs.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
What inspires me the most is life experiences and things that really impact me, and of course super rad things like hotrods and Harleys.
WHAT IS NEXT?
We are currently writing our first Full-Length album and it's some of the best music me and Wyatt have ever written so we’re excited to jump back in the studio and get it done.
