We chat with music project Geometry of Chaos
PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF FOR US WHO ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH YOU AND YOUR MUSIC AND TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF.
I am Fabio La Manna, I am mainly a guitarist and I am the guy behind the project, the other one is Davide who is the guy behind the drums. We have played in many bands and gained experience in rock and metal band in the past and we have decided to put something new out there with this new band, a mix of all the music we like and we have played, from progressive rock and metal to classic rock.
TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR NEW ALBUM OR SINGLE?
The first 3 singles are very different from each other. One is more psychedelic, one is more rough and groovy, one is more progressive. I like versatility and different mood and emotions. We wanted to do a strong album, with sick drums and big riff, giving a lot of room for atmospheres and emotions.
WHAT INSPIRED THE ALBUM OR SINGLE?
I was inspired by the same thing I dedicate most of my free time, exoterism, society and political problems, artificial intelligence.
CAN YOU SUM UP THE ALBUM IN A FEW WORDS?
It is a strong rock album, with heavy and complex stuff but also something really melodic, powerful vocals. It tells many stories connected in the same way to the actual society we live in. It has, for me, an aura of mystery and drama.
WHAT RECORD CHANGED YOUR LIFE AND WHY?
Almost everything by The Beatles, they really changed my life in many aspects
DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE MUSIC VIDEO FILMED BY YOUR BAND OR ANOTHER ARTIST?
I love the work of surreal filmmakers, grotesque, exoteric stuff, weird and unique stuff. I am very interested in everything about cinema and video games. I don’t have much video of myself but I like other works, old Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden, Tool, Jodorovski stuff with Manson, old video of Aphex Twin
WHAT WOULD WE FIND YOU DOING WHEN YOU'RE NOT MAKING MUSIC?
All the normal things everyone does, including working, homework stuff, doing sport, reading, etc…
DO YOU GET NERVOUS PERFORMING LIVE, IF SO HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH THAT?
Almost every time, but usually the reason I am nervous is caused of bad organization of the stage, for lack of ability in the sound engineering, ugly club. I don’t feel anxious when I am playing, in that moment I dig into the music.
HOW DID YOU FORM THE BAND?
I have played with Davide for a long time and it was a great time. We called ourselves Galileo's Spectacles and we had rehearsals for 2 or 3 years with a bassist, then we have been involved in other activities and we come back play together only the two of us in 2018 and I renamed the project Geometry of chaos
HOW DO YOU WRITE? - DO YOU HAVE A KEY SONGWRITER, OR DO YOU ALL WORK TOGETHER?
I am the songwriter but sometimes my idea comes during a jam with the band, I have composed most of Garage Evil, Saturated working with Davide in rehearsal, for example.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
All artists and music, everything I like is an inspiration, really. There‘s always something that we take for ourselves in our experience of life, and visions and fantasies, idea that it’s difficult to share, but you can with music
WHAT IS NEXT?
We will promote Soldiers for a while, it took a lot of work to finish and now we are looking for the best way to let it be heard by people.
