We are Baytrees. We hail from Brixton South London. We were there before it was cool. We are brothers Mensah(lead vox guitar) and Kwame Hart(bass vox), school friend Marcus Harris(drums vox) and Coujoe Ryan. (guitar vox).
TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR NEW ALBUM OR SINGLE?
We’ve just finished a new ep called stitches. We've been working on this for a while now. We had to halt production early Feb but have come back stronger than ever with our latest offering. We feel we have found our sound now.
WHAT INSPIRED THE ALBUM OR SINGLE?
It is inspired by my life from a lyrical point of view it’s been a hard year for my brother and I. We lost our mother at the beginning of the year which was devastating for the whole family, but time is a great healer.

Marvin Gaye what’s going on, been listening to that a lot this year funny how some things don’t change at all.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE MUSIC VIDEO FILMED BY YOUR BAND OR ANOTHER ARTIST?
Favourite video of ours is sunlight. We had to learn a whole dance routine. We were well out of our comfort zone which is good to do from time to time.
WHAT WOULD WE FIND YOU DOING WHEN YOU'RE NOT MAKING MUSIC? I enjoy reading, swimming, kicking ball I'm also a music teacher. when I’m not making music I’m teaching it.
DO YOU GET NERVOUS PERFORMING LIVE, IF SO HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH
A little bit, right now we’re just happy to be playing live music again nerves are a luxury we haven’t had in a while.
HOW DID YOU FORM THE BAND?
The bands made up of me and my brother Kwame Marcus and Coujoe, we formed
when we were kids. Hanging out not doing much. I was given a guitar for my 14th birthday and wasn't really into it. I picked it up again when I got sacked from my Saturday job at sainsbury and had a lot of spare time on my hands.
HOW DO YOU WRITE? - DO YOU HAVE A KEY SONGWRITER, OR DO YOU ALL WORK TOGETHER?
I'm the main songwriter and producer, although I have to get thumbs up from all for a song to make the set.
I’ve got a studio in my house it’s my happy place we’re you’ll find me most days.

The journey of life is forever inspiring,
loss, love every aspect of it.We have to embrace the good and bad in all.
WHAT IS NEXT
Stitches, our latest e.p is coming out next year. With lead single 'Lover' being released mid November.
We also have a ep launch show on November 20th @Off The Cuff bar in Herne Hill.
It will be our first proper show post covid so can't wait.
