I'm Gaetano, Falling Giant frontman. We are an Alternative Metal band born in Rome in 2017.
From then until today we have never stopped believing in a common dream.
In 2018 the band began its apprenticeship in the underground reality of Rome, self-producing our songs and videos, combining our passion for music with the visual and imaginative work of cinema.
The band's sound is a compromise between Alternative Metal and Alternative Rock, with electronic and cinematic influences, looking for dark, sensual, powerful and elegant atmospheres.
We love the show, we love to get involved, we like to mix the cards of the game. We throw glitter on the dark.
TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR NEW ALBUM?
Our latest release is our first album titled MMXVII MMXXII which is nothing more than a collection of all the singles created from 2017 to today.
The singles of MMXVII MMXXII are the past and present of Falling Giant.
The songs have all been self-produced by the band in recent years and are all characterized by stylistic experiments, achieved with the experience and harmony of the group.
Darkness / sensuality / elegance may be the mantra of this collection, which is the band's very first album.

WHAT INSPIRED THE ALBUM OR SINGLE?
This album is the essence of the band of these years. Our artistic and human growth. Being a collection of singles that have been released over a five-year time frame, the quality from single to single changes. But it is part of our growth process.
'Hades' speaks of betrayal, of passion.
'The Speech' is a hymn to peace.
'Kings of Babylon' is a critique of today's fast and frivolous society.
'Golden Boys' is a tribute to the rock scene of the 80s, a sequence of quotes related to the most famous rock stars.
'Mountains' is the life growth process.
'Perseverance' is fighting song, a hymn to the courage to never give up.

It is the narrative of the eroticism of human existence.
WHAT RECORD CHANGED YOUR LIFE AND WHY?
As mentioned before, it was the single 'Hades' that changed our perception of a band. It is a song that has reached many people in the world and that has made us discover it. I got the chills reading a message from a Brazilian girl. She said that Hades is the song she listens to give herself courage.
And that's just one of the many messages that have come to us since we released Hades two years ago.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE MUSIC VIDEO FILMED BY YOUR BAND OR ANOTHER
ARTIST?
My favorite video clip is undoubtedly 'From Yesterday' by Thirty Seconds to Mars.
It's exactly the kind of direction I love for video clips.
It goes without saying that Jared Leto is a genius. Also the video clip, also directed by him, of ‘Hurricane’.
It's cinema guys.
WHAT WOULD WE FIND YOU DOING WHEN YOU’RE NOT MAKING MUSIC?
We love going to the theater, to the cinema, we love reading books, discovering places, traveling, making acquaintances.
Each of us has parts to draw on to create music.
To me personally, when I'm not playing you might find me on a cinema set or ... fencing!
I am a fencer and fencing has given me the basis on which to build my artistic research
DO YOU GET NERVOUS PERFORMING LIVE, IF SO HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH THAT?
I don't usually have stage fright, I've been a little used to it since I was a kid. More than anxiety, indescribable adrenaline rises and I can't sit still for a moment. I try to feed it rather than control it.
HOW DID YOU FORM THE BAND?
The band was born with a small miracle.
I had just passed the tough selection at the acting academy and was in a studio auditioning for a musical. There was a handwritten ad that read 'Alternative Band - Czech Rock Singer' with Filippo's phone number. Filippo, Luke and Tucci already had their project started from high school, but they were having various difficulties related to members who often abandoned them, especially the singers.
I took a picture of the ad and called that number three months later.
We met in front of the subway, had a beer together and met live. Love immediately took off when, taking courage, I said I was looking for a metal band rather than a rock and they smilingly replied that they had written on the ad ‘alternative-rock’ to reach more people, but in reality they wanted to do Metal. That day a miracle was born.
It is not easy to find such a strong feeling. We weren't friends, we didn't know each other.
We are now a family.
HOW DO YOU WRITE? - DO YOU HAVE A KEY SONGWRITER, OR DO YOU ALL WORK
TOGETHER?
We never asked for help from outside people to write the lyrics.
I really want to write them in my own hand. I pull down the vocal lines and a text, or a theme, and show it to the kids. We often work together on every aspect, it's a great team effort.
Lately the compositions that Luke brings to the room stimulate me a flood of images and texts.
We are now composing and recording the new unreleased album. It will be a bomb.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
In writing and composition we are inspired by what we breathe and see.
I personally draw on the art I seek. Books, shows, films, paintings, poems ... I'm a nice literary nerd. I like romantic literature, where I often draw on the lyrics.
WHAT IS NEXT?
Get ready because great things are on the way.
With our managers Damian and Roberto, of Deadfall Management, we are working on the next live and festival dates.
In conjunction with all this, we are working day and night on the new album, which we would like to release next year.
It is a very complex album on a compositional level. It will be a concept album on the stages of mourning, very grotesque and picturesque, a decadent baroque.
