Tell us a bit about yourself

I’m Liam, I drum for the band. I’ve been playing with Naked Sunday since 2018, the band itself has been active for 15 years and has see many lineup changes except for our founding members, the husband-and-wife duo, of Martin our frontman at the helm, and Laura our bassist.

Tell us about your latest release

Our latest release is ‘Library of Medication’ released back in September 2025, is a collection of songs we have been working on for the past 18 months, maybe 2 years, since we released our last record ‘Home’ and we are immensely proud of what we’ve put out for the everyone to hear.

Which song would you say sums up your sound the best?

Ooh, difficult to choose. I’d say it’s like picking your favourite child haha. I would say my personal favourite is Rond De Jambe, and I think this demonstrates a full range of our influences and showcases a wide range of dynamics and a dark feel with plenty of twists and turns throughout. I thinks that sums us up pretty well.

Describe your music in a few words

Loud, dynamic, and atmospheric

Who have been your biggest influences?

We put all our influences in the basket, a smorgasbord as such. I love all genres of music but I’d have to say bands main influences include Black Sabbath, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, Metallica, Tool, Smashing Pumpkins, Muse, The Clash, Green Day, Rancid, Kate Bush and Brian Eno. Quite a selection when you look at it written down.

How did you get into music?

Well, my first music experience was with my dad in the car listening to The Clash. But the defining moment was in that same car on our way to a family holiday and I heard Times Like These by Foo Fighters. And from that day forward, I knew I was going to be a musician.

What is the creative process like for you when making music?

It sometimes comes from just a riff, bass line or a drum rhythm. In some cases one of our tracks ‘Rond De Jambe’ was all composed by our guitar wizard Alex and we built the final structure for quite a while because we care so much for the creative process.

Please tell us a random fact about yourself?

I’m ambidextrous, not a bad attribute for a drummer I guess!

What is the best advice you’ve been given?

Be the first you, not the next Beatles or Sabbath. BE THE FIRST YOU!!!

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

That the likes of the big labels and companies like Spotify pay ALL artists fairly, local authorities support local grassroots venues. This year we saw the saddening closures of over 100 independent venues where all current and future headliners cut their teeth like The Leadmill in Sheffield.

What’s next?

We will be playing a number of shows this year in support of ‘Library of Medication’ up and down the UK alongside writing and recording the next album, for which we already have a number of tracks that we are very excited to share in the future.
