PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF FOR US WHO ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH YOU AND
YOUR MUSIC AND TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF.
My name is AvenueN9ne and I am a pop artist from Philadelphia, PA. I was born and raised in Philly, but I have always been fascinated with the sounds from other states and countries. So I have always looked up different artists from certain states because of the contrast of sounds that I might to have been exposed to in Philly.
TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR NEW ALBUM OR SINGLE?
My new single “Hoops” (https://open.spotify.com/track/60UMmwPlSerbUvTLfZdxfo?si=24d11f06c3dd4ece) is about going through a loop. Doesn’t matter if it is in a romantic sense, friendship sense, or family. Its about not knowing where to start at the end. What I mean by that is so many people think the end is just that, the end. However the end could be the start of something you just couldn’t see yet. The first line for the first, to me speaks to just that. “Im just trynna understand, where we even begin, because we are so close to the end"
WHAT INSPIRED THE ALBUM OR SINGLE?
To be completely transparent, what inspired this was everyone in my life who let me down, we didn’t say things straight out and be honest. It is a lot of situations mashed together told as a love story. My pain, frustration, confusion. All of it.
CAN YOU SUM UP THE ALBUM IN A FEW WORDS?
Emotional intelligence. You might not understand now, but you will.
WHAT RECORD CHANGED YOUR LIFE AND WHY?
The Human Condition by Jon Bellion. I cannot even fully put into words what this album did for me. What I can say though, is that it made me look at myself, and look at what I’ve done and just not only accept but embrace those parts. “IRobot" is one of my favorite songs off the album for so many reasons. From the writing, to the instrumental, to the placements. Everything. My Favorite line from that song is “Inside was an ocean of soul and emotion, then you cut me open, now all that I know is; I am a robot"
DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE MUSIC VIDEO FILMED BY YOUR BAND OR ANOTHER
ARTIST?
One of my favorite music videos of all time is “Paparazzi” by Lady Gaga. That music video, her artistry, was just so ahead of its time and will always go down in the top for me.
WHAT WOULD WE FIND YOU DOING WHEN YOU'RE NOT MAKING MUSIC?
Probably playing a video game or watching a movie. I don’t know if watching movies is a hobby per say but it relaxes me and just lets me be present.
DO YOU GET NERVOUS PERFORMING LIVE, IF SO HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH THAT?
I use to get really bad nerves and shake really bad, but now not so much. I just think I realized this is what I was meant to do. So this was part of it, and I needed to be one with the music.
HOW DID YOU FORM THE BAND?
I didn’t want to release music under my name, I am not even super big on taking pictures either so that gave me more reason to not release under my name. As I was thinking of a stage name, I knew I wanted my grandmother to live on through my music somehow. She gave me my first guitar when I was 9 so it seemed fitting.
HOW DO YOU WRITE? - DO YOU HAVE A KEY SONGWRITER, OR DO YOU ALL WORK
TOGETHER?
I write feelings. So if I'm feeling stressed I will pull from that emotion and write. A lot of my songs are metaphors and I use relationships to do that. I'm not always talking about a relationship, but when I do it creates the connection or a bridge to the emotion I want.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
Life. Everything about it inspires me.
WHAT IS NEXT?
Next is a song I am super excited for! It is called “Love Me” and it releases April 8th 2022! So mark the calendars!
