ROZU INTERVIEW

ANSWERS FROM TIM GRAHAM (VOCALS)

TELL US ABOUT YOUR NEW ALBUM/ PROJECT?

We are currently in the recording process for our debut album. Through the process we have really found our sound and we are all very excited for the product we have so far.

WHAT INSPIRED ANY CENTRAL THEMES ON THE ALBUM?

The theme lyrically for this album is Hope. Believing in yourself and letting all the naysayers not hold us back but light the fire in ourselves to push to be better. It’s really just an overview of our career thus far as musicians and the grind we have all been on.

HOW LONG DID YOU SPEND RECORDING?

It was about a month and a half of writing a couple weeks of tracking all the instruments and I believe we have 2 and a half weeks booked for all the vocal recordings. It is a process but having a longer split up timeline is giving us the free reign of making sure we have the best possible product we can get.

HOW DID YOU GO ABOUT THE SONGWRITING PROCESS?

The songwriting process was done with our producer Tyler Ruehl. He has been with us since the beginning, so we actually flew him out for a month and half to sit in the studio and write with us that way we were all on the same page when it came to final tracking.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE TRACK FROM THE ALBUM?

It is too early to tell but we have a super weird track that is kind of a different style for us that we are all pretty excited to see the final product of.

WHO ARE YOUR BIGGEST INFLUENCES?

We listened to a lot of Polaris, Wage War, Underoath, and Like Moths to Flames during the writing process and drew a bit of influence from all those artists.

HOW DID YOU FORM THE BAND?

It all kind of started with me and David wanting to write music again after our last band dissolved. We wrote some music together with Tyler and then decided we wanted to really give the band thing one last shot on our terms then quickly found Brian and Henry to join and really just started grinding and continue to grind.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO ANYONE STARTING OUT?

TAKE YOUR TIME! Find the right members, create and gather all the content then make plans for releases. In such an over saturated market it is really difficult to cut through so set yourselves up to give.

ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO ADD?

Thank you all for the undying support thus far. We are planning some tours and have a few more songs to release while finalizing this album so look out for us coming to a city near you.
