HIGH MOONLIGHT INTERVIEW

TELL US ABOUT YOUR NEW ALBUM/ PROJECT?

We are very busy for the launch of our first digital EP. It will be released by Roadie Metal label and will feature 3 or 4 songs. I believe it will be released in the next month (August or September).

We released two single and they can be checked on YouTube, just search our channel (High Moonlight official band).

WHAT INSPIRED ANY CENTRAL THEMES ON THE ALBUM?

There was no central theme that inspired the EP per plot. But I can emphasize that the greatest inspiration always came from the great rock bands of the past. Dio, Sabbath, Priest and others.

HOW LONG DID YOU SPEND RECORDING?

The process of recording usually occurs fast (about a month I have finished recording the songs). The most time consuming is the process of creation, for it depends on how much I am inspired.

HOW DID YOU GO ABOUT THE SONGWRITING PROCESS?

The writing process occurs after I have already completed the instrumental part of the song. Few times I write a letter before and then create an instrument for it. In relation to the themes I always try to deal with more mystical things or conspiratorial matters in general.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE TRACK FROM THE ALBUM?

I like "Arcturians" Including it will be present in our first EP that will be released digitally.

WHO ARE YOUR BIGGEST INFLUENCES?

Some of my main influences are classical bands like: Dio, Rainbow, Sabbath, Priest. But in addition I also often listen to a lot of oriental and classical music.

HOW DID YOU FORM THE BAND?

The band High Moonlight began its work in the late 90's. From the beginning it had a first name that was Evil Side for next Elves of boots. The sound was more sturdy in a heavy blues than a metal itself, but soon they would begin to develop more precise and objective ideas.

If at the beginning the idea was to play cover songs from bands such as Sabbath, Dio, Purple and others, the move now is also to focus on songs of their own.

As with almost every band at the beginning of their journey, it was never easy to maintain a solid formation at the beginning, so the hardest thing was to have members committed to serious, focused work.

In the early 2000s the band had to cease their activities, returning years later with a new lineup.

In 2016, the first big opportunity for the band appeared on their journey until then, which was their participation in the compilation Roadie Metal-volume 8 (Brazilian Heavy Metal bands). Big national metal names have gone through this collection, Torture Squad, Claustrophobia, Heaven's Guardian, Fatal Scream are some of them.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO ANYONE STARTING OUT?

Have a strong will and believe in your own work more than anyone else.

WHAT IS NEXT?

We will be part of another official compilation this year that will be released on the Roadie Metal label on various streaming platforms. Soon after we will have an EP released in the same format and by the same musical label later this year as well. In the other is only what I can advance for now, other news I still cannot speak because there are still some details to be able to state about, but I can say that with each passing day our music has reached as many people as possible and it only motivates us more and more.

ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO ADD

Thank you very much for the opportunity to be able to divulge some of our work here and hopefully soon be presenting all our work to as many people as possible who appreciate good quality heavy metal, we are working hard for this and soon we will certainly have news . High Moonlight is our band, keep that name!
