INTRODUCING DAYS TO COME INTERVIEW

We chat with US band Days To Come about their awesome new track Wolves. It's a punchy rock track from a distinctive new band that produce some high energy, quality, beefy rock songs. FFO Alter Bridge, Inglorious and any other band who kick ass.

Meet DTC, you're new favourite band...

TELL US ABOUT YOUR NEW ALBUM/ PROJECT?

A: Brandon - Our latest single is Wolves (June 2019). We’re pumped to tour and promote it. We also released a lyric video for it with footage from different shows we’ve played in 2019.

WHAT INSPIRED ANY CENTRAL THEMES ON THE ALBUM?

A: Justin - Our latest single Wolves is about getting out of a negative relationship. I feel like everyone can relate with it to some degree.

HOW LONG DID YOU SPEND RECORDING?

A: Jalen - Our single Wolves came together pretty quickly. We were able to track the drums at Earthsound Recording in Valdosta, GA (United States) and track everything else on our own. Lee Dyess at Earthsound mixed/mastered the track and we’re pretty pumped to promote it!

HOW DID YOU GO ABOUT THE SONGWRITING PROCESS?

A: Justin - Typically, Brandon and I will get together with a few acoustic guitars and work out a rough skeleton of a song. I’ll either already have lyrics written or will write some to go with the music. Once that’s done, we’ll get with Jalen to finish it up.

So far, the content of the lyrics have been between the struggle of self and doing the right thing. It seems to be a theme that I continue to run back to.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE TRACK FROM THE ALBUM?

A: Brandon - Wolves. It’s a continuation of us finding our sound. We moved in a different direction with our single Siren (January 2019) and Wolves is building on that foundation.

WHO ARE YOUR BIGGEST INFLUENCES?

A: Jalen - My biggest influences are anyone who puts in time and effort to create something great.

HOW DID YOU FORM THE BAND?

A: Justin - Years ago, Brandon and I were frustrated that we had all of the pieces to put a band together except for a drummer. I was at my day job one day and just thought that everything would work out and it would be better in the “days to come”.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO ANYONE STARTING OUT?

A: Justin - Be patient and find the right people. You don’t need the most talented players. You need people that you enjoy spending lots of time with and can trust with creative ideas.

WHAT IS NEXT?

A: Jalen - Our biggest tour ever is coming up in July for Rock Fest. It's such an honor to be invited to play with some of the greatest names in the business!

ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO ADD

A: Brandon - We appreciate our family, friends, and fans. We love creating music for you and can’t wait to hear what you think about our new single Wolves.
