LOVESICK RADIO INTERVIEW

We caught up with Las Vegas based band LSR to find out more about their latest EP, and their unique brand of unapologetic pop rock.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR NEW ALBUM/ PROJECT?

Troy (singer): This album is basically our little melting pot of everything we love and miss about rock n roll.

David( Guitarist): It’s our love letter to rock n roll!

WHAT INSPIRED ANY CENTRAL THEMES ON THE ALBUM?

Troy: I would say there are several themes woven throughout...some are pretty deep diving...some are sarcastic, but it covers a range of things from self reflection, overcoming, bitterness, redemption...and a touch of jealousy. Hopefully there are some relatable topics! Haha.

HOW LONG DID YOU SPEND RECORDING?

David: I like to move pretty quick. I feel if you spend too much time on a track it starts to feel labored on & It loses some of that energy.

HOW DID YOU GO ABOUT THE SONGWRITING PROCESS?

Troy: It typically starts with a riff or music...Dave sends me an idea that I live with and drive around with it for awhile, then I’ll bring it to practice and we kind of workshop it as a band.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE TRACK FROM THE ALBUM?

David: I like some of the new tracks we are working up. I feel we have started to develop a sound that we can call ours.

Troy: It’s tough, but right now I’m really digging an unreleased track called “Nothing left to Lose”, but honestly it depends on the day!

WHO ARE YOUR BIGGEST INFLUENCES?

David: The Stones, Sex Pistols, Aerosmith, zeppelin are the big ones. But newish bands like rival sons & the Cadillac three are up there too. I just love music !

Troy: I have always been influenced by storytelling songwriters...Petty, Mellencamp, etc...basically guys that can paint a picture with words and give you a melody that gets stuck in your head.

HOW DID YOU FORM THE BAND?

David: This version really came together once troy & I started working together. We reached out to some people in our circle & things kinda slowly fell into place.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO ANYONE STARTING OUT?

Troy: Be true to what you believe and work your ass off...don’t worry about chasing trends, just be authentic.

WHAT IS NEXT?

ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO ADD -

David: I’m excited to be headed back into the studio in a few weeks! Thanks for taking the time to talk to us.

Troy: Thanks so much for having us...as far as what's next, we just plan to just keep doing more more and more...more music, travel, shows, videos!
