THE ISLAND CLUB RELEASE NEW SINGLE

Brighton five-piece The Island Club, have released the official video for their new single ‘Paper Kiss’ – a dance-infused pop track with a wave of inspired hooks and daring melodies.

In a dream-like, metaphorical setup, the video sees the band performing to a roomful of desk-bound office employees who are oblivious to what’s in front of them. Of the video, the band say “’Paper Kiss’ is about the corruption of money and how it can change people. We decided to explore this concept by highlighting the contrast between the workers and us performing on stage. The workers’ focus is earning money, living the norm of the 9-5 routine, and we’re attempting to stray their attention away from this, yet their drive for profit stops them from noticing.” ‘Paper Kiss’ is the follow up to the band’s 2016 viral track, 'Let Go', which chalked up over a million streams on Spotify in just a few months. The Island Club are comprised of members Michael Askew, Julien Forsythe-Lewis, David Blowers, Sam Cantlon and Barney Cox. The band have recently been curating their own club night, 'Island Club Presents' in Brighton. The inaugural show sold out in less than one week and, to celebrate The Great Escape, their next night has just been announced for May 17th at The Haunt. Their biggest headline performance to date, it’s testament to the band’s rapidly growing fanbase and their bold, ambitious live show. With many more announcements in the pipeline, a seismic wave is building for The Island Club leading to much bigger things to come in 2017.
