THEO BARD RELEASES NEW VIDEO 'EVIL EYES'

YOU GIVE EP RELEASED OCTOBER 9th

East London troubadour Theo Bard has revealed the video for the ‘Evil Eyes’, which premiered at Made In Shoreditch. The single is the latest to be taken from his upcoming You Give EP, due for release on October 9th. ‘Evil Eyes’ sees Theo Bard take an immersive journey along the River Lea of Hackney, shot by the award-winning director Tom Mustill. With deep and personal lyrics, ‘Evil Eyes’ champions Theo Bard’s eclectic taste, a smorgasbord of reggae, indie and classic Celtic traditionalism, reminiscent of the widely accessible musical exploration of Alt-J. Awash with vivid lyrics, ‘Evil Eyes’ describes an out-dated system struggling to reform in-line with the current ideas of today. In a search for the winter sun while seeing light in the sky, the song is an avowal of choosing positive values over negative ones. These ideas all frame the central message of ‘Evil Eyes’, delivered through the chorus: following dreams in the face of adversity.

‘Evil Eyes’ follows from the infectious ‘Never Alone’, also taken from the You GiveEP. The uplifting and heartfelt EP explores friendship, love and deep relationships. It draws influence on sounds from across the globe, incorporating them in a distinctly unique sound.

A leading figure in the East London music scene, Theo Bard is the man behind the highly respected, and distinctly underground, Woodburner events. Birthed in 2010 at The George, Hackney to an audience of no more than 50, Woodburner has grown into a large heady experience that regularly attracts over 400 revellers a week to the Dalston Eastern Curve Garden. Woodburner has proudly hosted performances from the likes of Johnny Flynn and Nick Mulvey and has been described by Clash as,“majestic” and “decadent”. For more information on Woodburner please visitwoodburnermusic.co.uk Theo’s band are made up of prestigious talent: Tansay Omar (Bjork, Boy George) on drums, Harry Deacon from Kid Wave on bass, and Max Baillie (Tinie Tempah) on violin. They can all be caught live at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen on October 15th in celebration of the release of the You Give EP.
